Ready to Move Up? YJC Summer Employment Series Continues on July 13th

(Evanston, Ill). Are you stuck at your current job position and feel hopeless in terms of moving up the corporate ladder? Don't worry, with the Youth Job Center of Evanston’s Summer Employment Series, you can move up the corporate ladder rather quickly.

The next Summer Employment Series (SES) continues on July 13th, with a workshop called “How to Appropriately Prepare for Jobs in High-Growth Industries.” The workshop, which will be held at the Evanston Public Library from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, learn more about mentoring and job-shadowing, the importance of networking and informational interviews, and professional certifications for high-growth industries.

“It’s important that our community partners and jobseekers are aware of opportunities available to them in industries that are projected to have high-growth in the coming years,” says Employment Outreach Coordinator Jordan Burghardt. “We want to keep our job seekers ahead of the curve.”

Additional SES workshops will follow in August. The August workshop will cover when and how to expunge a criminal record, with a panel of experts for job seekers to speak with about their own situations.

All SES workshops are free and open to all ages.

The Youth Job Center of Evanston prepares youth ages 14-25 for success in the workplace through job-readiness, placement and employment support in partnership with employers.
