The Youth Job Center Welcomes New Board President, Karen Hunt

(Evanston, Il.)  Karen Hunt assumed the role of Board President of the Youth Job Center of Evanston at its annual Board of Director’s meeting on July 14, 2010.  Karen takes over for Jim Kauffman who served as president the past two fiscal years. 

 

Karen, Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending, First Bank and Trust of Evanston, is a long-time Evanston resident and community leader.  Karen has served on the YJC board for 6 years and has held a variety of leadership positions including Vice President, Development Chair, SCA board liaison, and annual Benefit Chair.  

 

Karen’s initial goals as board president include; working with the board to enhance fundraising efforts, increasing organizational visibility, and promoting policy making that supports the YJC staff in achieving its mission. Karen also  looks forward to working closely with YJC Executive Director, Sacella Smith, to determine how the board can best support YJC’s efforts in the community.

 

Also joining the YJC board are: David Spitulnik, Blackman Kallick,  Bob Lubotsky , residential architect,  E/3 Group, Inc, Joe Romano, Romano Brothers, and Rodney Daniels, Allstate, Insurance,  all of Evanston. The YJC now has a working board of 27 business and community leaders.

 

The Youth Job Center of Evanston prepares youth ages 14-25 for success in the workplace through job-readiness, placement and employment support in partnership with employers.
