Since 1983, the Youth Job Center has given leading area employers access to a pool of pre-screened, job-ready, highly motivated young workers. YJC saves employers time and resources in seeking qualified employees. We train young people in today’s essential workplace skills and consult with employers to meet their staffing needs. Comprehensive staffing support services, with up to one year of post placement follow-up, are also provided free of charge, including:

• New employee sourcing
• Candidate pre-screening
• Job succession planning
• Employee retention services

YJC is a leading provider of job training and employment services for youth in Evanston, Chicago and surrounding suburbs, preparing them to become valuable, productive workers for area employers. YJC was founded on the belief that this population is an undeveloped community asset — a rich, untapped source of talent and energy. Each year, we provide services to approximately 1,400 youth ages 14 to 25, helping them:

• Increase income potential
• Gain meaningful work experience
• Develop professional skills and behaviors
• Enhance feelings of independence, confidence and self-worth
